What is Passion?

Winter is slowly fading away, and will take all the bitter cold nights, unbearable snow storms and dangerous sheets of ice with it. As Runners, we love to see the sight of sun, the feeling of warmth, and most of all the season of summer.

I can't count the amount of times I was strangely looked at during this past winter while out running in the freezing cold. The countless remarks from neighbours " You have got to be crazy out in this weather", "Do you ever stop running?". The answer is "NO, you can't stop when you have a passion for something!"

Passion is a very strong feeling, almost unexplainable, but I will try my best to explain the feeling. Do you ever get that feeling when you are at the starting line of a race and you have those butterflies in your stomach? Or the overwhelming mix of emotion and you don't know how to react? That is passion-a strong feeling towards an external object or event, in my example and many others- RUNNING is their passion. Every runner has a clear goal each summer to compete in as many races as possible while remaining healthy and avoiding injuries. Once you cross the finish line of one race, you are so passionate and excited to focus on the next race. It is such an accomplishment to cross the finish line, you always want to experience that feeling.

As i continue my journey with running and training for certain events, I realize that my dedication and commitment to running will only grow stronger and more concrete. My goal for everyone is to find people who can relate, and share emotional and powerful experiences with running.
